Below are some examples of custom jewelry pieces that we have done recently (click on any piece to enlarge and see detail): |
This pendant was designed using 14k yellow gold. The entire clydesdale body is set with champaign diamonds, the feathered feet are set with white diamonds, and the mane and tail are set with alternating green emeralds and white diamonds to match the clients farm colors. The feathered feet are also rhodium plated to make them look white.
This pendant was designed using 14k yellow gold. The outline of the draft horse has a high polished finish while the inside of the draft horse has a textured finish. The mane and tail are set with white diamonds. The mane and tail are also rhodium plated to bring out the brilliance of the diamonds.
This 14k yellow gold pendant was created for Betty Groves. The clydesdale was designed to look like one of Betty's favorite stallions. We were given a picture of the stallion and from that were able to hand-carve the profile and all the details to make the horse look identical to the picture. We took her "Glencoe" logo and traced the exact text design and placed it across the bottom of the scotchbottom shoe. There is a ruby set on either side of the text. The feathered feet are rhodium plated to make them look white.
This pulling shoe pendant was designed using 14k white gold. The shoe is set with blue sapphires in place of where the nail holes would be. The main part of the pulling shoe has a high polished finish, while the top of the toe and heel grabs have a textured finish.
This ring was designed using 14k yellow gold. The horse head at the top of the ring was hand-carved to match a picture of the clients horse. The mane fades away into the band of the ring and circles back around to the top of the ring to represent the tail of the horse.
This tie-tack was designed using 14k yellow gold. We took the "Tartan" logo and traced the exact text design and placed it across the bottom of the scotchbottom shoe. The text was indented down into the shoe and then filled with black enamel to make it stand out. There is a pin on both sides of the shoe so that it will not spin around when it is attached to a piece of clothing.
These three pictures showcase how our design process works from a concept to a finished product. The client gave us a picture of his farm logo and wanted us to create a pendant to look like it. He specified that he wanted the tree to be set with stones and that he did not want the word clydesdales as part of the piece. First we use our computer-aided jewelry design program to trace the entire logo design. Once this is done we are able to give the design depth, add detail, and place holes in the tree where the stones would be set. The next step is to have our milling machine carve out the design in wax form. After the wax has been carved, we present the design to the client for approval. Once the design is finalized, we use the wax design to cast the piece in whatever metal the client desires. In this case we used sterling silver. After the piece is in metal form we polish the piece, add more detail by hand, and set all the stones. We do a final cleaning and polish, and then the piece is complete and ready to wear!
These three pictures showcase how our design process works from a photograph to a finished product. The client gave us a picture of his dog and wanted us to make a pendant to look like it. First we use our computer-aided jewelry design program to trace the outline of the dog's head and body, and then we add depth and detail to the piece. Next we have our milling machine carve out the design in wax form. Once the wax has been carved, we add additional details to the piece with hand carving techniques, and then the piece is ready to be casted in whatever metal the client desires. In this case we used sterling silver. After the piece is in metal form we polish the piece and add any more details necessary by hand. We do a final cleaning and polish, and then the piece is ready to wear and show-off!
This belt buckle was designed using german silver for the buckle and brass for the figures. We took the "Pheasants Forever" logo and figures and traced them using our computer-aided jewelry design program. Once our milling machine carves out the design in wax form, we are able to add more detail by using hand-carving techniques. Then the logo is ready to be casted. We cast the pieces in brass, and after we polish and add more detail to the pieces we then attach them to the buckle. This piece was created for the Iroquois County Pheasants Forever Chapter in Illinois.
